Tad Philipp joined CW Financial Services (CW) in 2008 and serves as Chief Risk Officer for CW and is also a member of the Executive Committee, a six member team responsible for providing strategic direction to CW and its subsidiaries. Mr. Philipp further oversees the Company's third party risk management platform, which delivers its proprietary analytics and underwriting to portfolio lenders, securities investors and other clients. Offerings include valuation, portfolio optimization and credit risk management services.
Prior to CW, Mr. Philipp was with Moody's Investors Service for 17 years, for most of that time as Managing Director of their U.S. Commercial Mortgage Finance Group. He is widely known in the commercial mortgage industry for his move in early 2007 to increase CMBS subordination levels in response to declining lending standards, as well as for his role in developing probability of default risk models and commercial property valuation indices that have been widely adopted by investors and lenders.
Mr. Philipp received a Bachelor of Arts from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University.
